Port Moody Soccer Club

Port Moody played host to West Vancouver Quest in the first round of Cup Play.

The Renegades applied pressure in the early stages of the game.

And had a chance in the 22nd minute.

However, it was West Vancouver who broke through the Renegades back line in the 25th minute to score the first goal of the game.

4 minutes into the second half there was a tense moment for the Renegades as a back pass made it behind the defensive line. However, Renegades defender Mariah Flesher recovered before the Quest could take advantage.

Renegades keeper Chelsea Fogliato made a difficult save in the 51st minute to keep the score at 1-nil.

A Quest forward was able to block a Renegades clearance and receive a favourable bounce in the 55th minute to make the score 2-nil.

The Renegades continued to apply pressure, hoping to have a bounce go their way.

In the 67th minute, with the Quest collapsed inside the 18, the Renegades pushed everyone forward and put several shots towards goal.

In the 74th minute Kathy Negahdar dribbled around two defenders...

but was unable to get a shot away before the defenders recovered.

In the 78th minute Cianna Vit broke through the Quest back line...

only to be successfully challenged by the Quest keeper.

And so the Renegades remain pointless in Cup Play after a 2-0 loss that seemed closer than the score would indicate.
