Pitt Meadows hosted the ailing Renegades for the second game of the season. The Renegades had a full turnout, but many were feeling the effects of a back-to-school cold. Renegades keeper Chelsea Fogliato kept the Thunder off the scoreboard on an early opportunity. ![]() ![]() ![]() The Renegades were awarded a free kick near the left touch line when Ally Mandley was brought down by a Thunder defender. ![]() However, they were unable to get a clean shot or header on net in the ensuing scramble. ![]() ![]() ![]() Lindsay Rupar put the Renegades up by a goal after a strong challenge with a Thunder defender. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Thunder defenders continued to have problems with the speed of Mandley. ![]() ![]() Continued pressure from the forwards resulted in several corners. However, the uphill run to the flag made it difficult to get a decent ball in. ![]() ![]() The Renegades defense had a strong game, giving up very few shots on goal. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pitt Meadows conceded the first of 2 own goals when a defender tried to block a Lindsay Rupar shot from the right side. ![]() The second own goal left the Renegades wondering who to congratulate as no Renegade appeared to touch the ball. ![]() ![]() At the final whistle the score was Renegades 3, Thunder 0. Renegades keeper Chelsea Fogliato gets her first shutout of the season and, despite illness, the Renegades remain unbeaten in league play. |
